NEW DELHI: Turkey has from Saturday (August 4) dropped the mandatory 14-day quarantine requirement for Indian travellers who have received both doses of a WHO-approved Covid vaccine at least 14 days before going there.
For Indian travellers this will mean Covishield for now as Covaxin is yet to get WHO nod. Travellers will need to undergo a negative report from an RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of departing for Turkey. “Passengers under the age of 12 will be exempted from PCR test and vaccination certificate applications on entry,” the Turkish embassy in Delhi said in a tweet Saturday.
“The announcement will ease the travel restrictions for fully vaccinated passengers of 12 years of age and older travelling from India or stayed in India in the last 14 days,” a statement said. Non-vaccinated travellers will need to quarantine for 10 days.
