WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden vowed he could beat his predecessor Donald Trump again in a 2024 rematch should both seek a second term in office.
“I believe I can beat Donald Trump again,” he told CNN when asked whether he would seek four more years and about his prospects in a potential second tussle with the Republican leader.
‘Very slight’ US recession possibility
Biden conceded that a “slight” recession was a possibility following a downcast IMF economic forecast, amid rising inflation and uncertainty after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“I don’t think there will be a recession,” Biden said. “If it is, it’ll be a very slight recession. That is, we’ll move down slightly.”
