BEIJING: China reported on Sunday that there were 32 new coronavirus cases in the mainland on Aug. 21, up from 20 a day earlier, according to the National Health Commission.
Of the new infections, four were locally transmitted, unchanged from the previous day. Three were in Shanghai and one was in Jiangsu province.
China reported 19 new asymptomatic coronavirus cases, which it does not classify as confirmed infections, down from 20 a day earlier. All of them were imported cases.
No new deaths were reported. As of Aug. 21, mainland China has recorded 94,631 confirmed cases, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
