NEW DELHI: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday eased India’s travel advisory, lowering the subcontinent to “Level 2: Moderate.”
As listed on the US state government’s website, “the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 2 Travel Health Notice for India due to Covid-19, indicating a moderate level of Covid-19 in the country.”
It read that the risk of contracting the virus and developing severe symptoms may be lower if one is fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine. The CDC further added to “exercise increased caution” in India due to Covid-19.
US president Joe Biden on April 30 imposed new travel restrictions on India in light of the raging pandemic, barring most non-US citizens who had been in India within the previous 14 days, from entering the US.
