Somerset man injured by burglar on business premises

It was reported that a man had to be taken to hospital for treatment following an aggravated burglary incident at a warehouse in Highbridge last weekend.

The unnamed man in question was attacked during a burglary attempt at a business park during the early hours of the morning.

The incident took place in a warehouse being used by Isleport Foods in Gass Close, with the employee being attacked from behind.

The police were called to the scene, with enquiries into the burglary still ongoing.

Police spokesperson Wayne Baker said:

“Police were called to an incident at the Isleport Business Park between 12.55am-1.30am on Saturday January 29th.

“An employee with a food company was reported to have been approached from behind and hit. He was taken to Weston General Hospital with minor injuries and received treatment before leaving shortly afterwards.

“Police are treating the incident as an aggravated burglary. Police enquiries are continuing.”

When it comes to security on industrial estates such as this one, it is always strongly recommended that business owners consider having a monitored burglar alarm system put in place. This way, you will be assured of a swift police response should any incident occur on the premises.
